About company
Dear visitors!
For many people, the European Union is in Brussels. Strictly speaking, however, it is on your own doorstep. In all 27 member states there are therefore representations of the European Commission, which are supposed to bring European citizens closer to what is happening in Europe. The representation in Germany is the link between the EU Commission in Brussels and the Federal Government and the Bundestag, the federal states and municipalities. Just as important to us are contact with associations, social partners, civil society and the media, but especially direct exchange with citizens. Through our work we are a catalyst for important European policy decisions.
The commission representation in Germany consists of the representation in Berlin as well as regional representations in Bonn and Munich. We are supported by more than 50 Europe-Direct information offices across Germany. We want to explain Europe and strengthen understanding of European politics. Because European decisions not only arrive in Germany, they are also decisively shaped here. The representation in Germany is the ear and mouthpiece for EU politics in Germany.
To ensure that journalists are always up to date on EU politics, the representation's press offices provide information on a daily basis about the EU Commission's political priorities and decisions, answer media inquiries and arrange interviews. In order to reach citizens, the three offices of the Representation in Germany organize dialogues with EU politicians and discussion events on pressing issues. On Facebook(link is external)and Instagram(link is external)and twitter(link is external)get in touch with us at any time on Twitter(link is external)also directly with me personally.
Our website is designed to help you experience the diversity and political landscape of Europe, to gather first-hand information about the intentions of our politics, and to form your own opinion. I would be very happy if as many people as possible in Germany and beyond want to find out more about the European Union and its politics and actively participate in the debate on the future of the EU. I cordially invite you to do so!
