About company
When we, Katharina von Uslar (graphic designer) and Edgar Rai (author), thought about opening a bookstore together in the spring of 2012, we didn't know a lot. As a result, we knew: we need a trained bookseller who shows us how something like this works. At this point Tina Friedrich came to us with her 20 years of professional experience, and so the three of us have been and have been from the very beginning.
We wanted a shop on a lively corner that should also be big enough to hold a full range and hold regular events. We also ran into that by chance - in the form of a evacuated brothel in Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg.
Uslar & Rai have been based here since November 2012, and we enjoy our general and very subjectively selected range, our very lively crossroads in front of the door and the nice customers who come to us every day.
